Offer FREE "BIG Hunk" Candy Bars via Wireless Phone to Viewers of the Bay Area’s WB20All Players of New Text Message Contest Will Receive Mobile Coupon Redeemable at Longs Drugs November 22, 2004, San Francisco — NetInformer, a leading mobile marketing company, and the Bay Area's WB20 KBWB-TV today announced Annabelle Candy Co., Inc., Hayward, Calif., is official sponsor of the "King of the Hill" $50,000 Contest. The interactive promotion is one of the first premium text message contests in the San Francisco television market. The "King of the Hill" $50,000 Contest is an innovative marketing program that utilizes mobile interactive TV to enhance sponsorship advertising. As the official sponsor, Annabelle Candy will send a mobile coupon for a free Big Hunk candy bar directly to the viewers who participate in the contest. "Offering a free sample of our products is still the most effective form of marketing for us," said Jennifer Mitchell, National Sales Manager, Annabelle Candy Co., Inc. “People really need to try a Big Hunk for themselves, it’s a great tasting bar made of nougat and whole roasted peanuts with only three grams of fat. Big Hunk became more popular than ever after being frequently seen on the Food Network’s "UNWRAPPED SERIES". Being able to send mobile coupons through different media partners opens up new ways to reach consumers and promote our brand." "This is one of the first times a TV sponsor can deliver a sample of their product directly to a viewing audience through a wireless phone," said James Powell, vice president of marketing, NetInformer. "Since Premium SMS is still relatively new concept for mobile promotions in the U.S., we wanted to give contest participants a unique incentive for taking the time to play. It's also an excellent opportunity for Annabelle to connect directly with consumers." Through Dec. 3, 2004, during the show "King of the Hill" (weeknights at 7:00 and 7:30 p.m.) viewers will be prompted to play an interactive quiz by texting "WB20" to the Short Code 71WIN (71946). Regardless of their carrier, players will then receive a "King of the Hill" trivia question on their mobile phone. For a 50 cent convenience fee, viewers can text-in an answer for a chance to win a weekly $50,000 prize or a wide screen HDTV. All viewers who text-in answers, correct or incorrect, will win the mobile coupon for a free Big Hunk candy bar. The mobile coupon is s a unique text code embedded in the reply confirmation message sent to participants. Players are directed to a prize web site to enter their mobile phone number and prize code to print out the coupon. They can take the Big Hunk coupon to any Bay Area Longs Drugs store for redemption. Annabelle is giving away up to 5,000 Big Hunk bars during this promotion. Official rules and additional contest information is available online at www.wb20.com.
