NetInformer Launches 2-Way Mobile Text Voting System for Music CD PromotionAll-Carrier Text Message System used in Print, Radio and Cable Television Ad Campaign November 14, 2003, Bakersfield, California — NetInformer, a leading mobile interactive (MI) communication company, announced the launch of a Music CD marketing promotion which features the use of NetInformer's 2-way text messaging system that connects to all US and Canadian mobile phone carriers. NetInformer has enabled a live text poll for "World Records," a Bakersfield, California music store. The Eye Street entertainment section of The Bakersfield Californian newspaper is sponsoring the live text poll calling the promotion "Eye on Five." This poll is the first mobile marketing promotion that allows text voting across all cellular carriers and to combine print, TV, Internet, in a mobile interactive medium. Eye Street readers are asked to vote for their five favorite CDs from a list of ten CDs in World Music ads. To vote, readers send the text message "Eye5" plus the "two letter" CD codes from their mobile phone to a special 800 number. The poll will also be featured in cable TV spots that will run on MTV, VH1 and Comedy Central in the Bakersfield area. The winning CDs from the weekly poll will go on sale the following week. Each participant will also be entered to win weekly prizes and a grand prize. The promotion starts in mid November 2003, and will run for six weeks. "The campaign is quite unique, using text voting for a promotion in a localized market and integrating it across different media.
